Building Robust Data Management Systems to effect improved operations
Users and Audience
The Vapor Recovery Data Management System, built with the help of StackNexus, will be used internally by our client’s staff members and externally by Cargo Tank Owner Operators, Testers, Terminal Operators, and Owner Operators and Testers to manage cargo tanks, 48-hour test notifications, test results, payments, certification applications, ownership transfers, violation notices, and user accounts.
Problem
In the early collaboration portion of this project, our team pinpointed several pain points in our client's existing system.
For one, the client’s system did not have the proper checks in place to ensure that the data entered was accurate and complete, leading to numerous errors and inconsistencies.
Additionally, the client's outdated system lacked the capability to sort and organize data effectively for planning and executing enforcement activities and failed to provide essential features such as logging enforcement actions, error correction, addressing security vulnerabilities, and managing compliance, which severely restricted their ability to make accurate, data-driven decisions.
Solution
In collaboration with our client, StackNexus successfully addressed a series of critical data management challenges. Our solution involved the development of a Salesforce Integrated Software System, complemented by thorough implementation plans and ongoing technical support for the client, which enabled them to transition from manual processes to a more efficient and accurate digital ecosystem that benefits both internal and external stakeholders.
To further increase the efficacy of our solution, we designed two portals dedicated to the needs of external and internal users, respectively, that can communicate with each other within the digital ecosystem for comprehensive information and data management.
With respect to the client’s external users, we created a user-friendly Salesforce portal that empowers them to oversee cargo tank data, certifications, and real-time application status checks. We also created a separate portal for internal users to facilitate the management of cargo tanks and certification applications while ensuring companies are held accountable for their emissions.
Impact
After modernizing their data management system, the client has reported a significant enhancement of their workplace efficiency and smoother operations. With StackNexus’ solution, the client can now easily access real-time data reports to make quick and accurate data-informed decisions.
Furthermore, the client’s new system enables them to monitor companies for non-compliance with comprehensive logs regarding reports and enforcement actions, allowing them to better manage their relationships with their various external associates.
Moreover, the improved system solution provides the client with the capability to correct administrative errors and address security issues to enhance data protection while incorporating a function for convenient payment collection.
